   If you are a Led-Zep Fan and a guitar player, this is the guitar for you. The Gibson version of this guitar was played by Page on the live versions of “Stairway to Heaven” and “The Song Remains The Same”. I played this model in a local music store about a year ago and I really liked it. This one is also much cheaper than the Gibson version although the quality is not as good. also I’m pretty sure it has bolt-on necks instead of “neck through body”, but for the price this can be overlooked. Lots of fun.

   First let me say I have owned a previous model made by the same manufacturer (Epiphone)this was made some where around 2004 0r 2005,and to clear up the first review that I just read there are two models stay away from the bolt on neck model be sure to ask seller,I’ve never owned a bold on G-1275 but most forums speaking about these say their junk,the Epiphone G1275 custom is the set neck,the first one that I owned was a set neck and the necks started to pull away from the pockets,I purchased it used and had no recourse what so ever so I lost out big time!
   
   The best advice I can give anyone is to buy new from a source that is reputable,or do as I did here on amazon ask the seller (if its an individual) for serial numbers etc,but the warranty would be the most important of all,another bit of advice and this goes for all guitars is to ask the seller to detune the guitar before shipping especially if its winter this may have be the reasoning behind my first mishap with the first G-1275,as it was shipped tuned and it was winter when it was shipped.
   
   Either way this was not the first or an isolated situation I’ve since seen listings (Craigs list,Ebay,etc)where people were selling these which had the same problem neck separating from the body.
   
   I’ve yet to read in any of the up to date forums(that being from 2008)of anyone else having this problem so I’d say Epiphone must have put a fix on it.
   
   Now to the guitar its self,first of all its heavy ,so if your not a writer and all you want to do is play stairway to heaven do yourself a favor get a processor with multi effects most have a twelve string setting allowing any electric guitar to sound like a twelve string electric.
   
   The first thing I saw was a nice finish and a guitar that screamed strap locks both necks were set straight no buzz no lose fret ends,though the actual fret end could have used a good going over with a finishing file,(unless you know what your doing don’t try this on your own)the action was set low just like it should be and the feel was like playing a stick of butter.
   
   I was playing through a solid state Fender amp ten inch speaker built in effects the six string neck sounded much better than I’d expected,but on the other hand the pickups on the twelve seem too tame,I’m not sure just what type or what ohm value they are but I can tell you there is a significant difference but once again just another thing that can be changed if you can work on guitars yourself.
   
   One other thing to remember is the case for this instrument is quite a bit larger than the average so be ready to find some place to store this guitar when you buy it,so thats about it for the negative side of this guitar(keep in mind I’m speaking of the one I no longer have)as I stated I just purchased one here on amazon.
   
   So for the positive features well the price for one,I payed $650.00+$19.49 shipping,sure beats $3099.00 for the Gibson EDS-1275,and even at $999.00(without hard shell case)pails by comparison to the cost of the Gibson,though having played the real deal several times there is quite a bit of difference in the feel.
   
   Also you will see the Epiphone G-1275 has three toggle switches one switch for selecting one or both necks,and one pickup selector switch for each neck,in closing from a point of view of owning one prior to ordering a new one there are a couple things that could be changed and it wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg.
   
   So its a good price for what you get and lets face it,its a double neck guitar,just do your home work before buying there are a lot of counterfeit guitars floating around out there including Epiphones.
